Teen Mentor Program

Teen Mentors build leadership skills by coaching younger and near aged girls in Girls’ LEAP programs. They also raise community awareness about violence that girls face.

Girls ages 14-18 can apply. This includes girls who have been involved in a Girls’ LEAP program and girls that are eager to get involved with Girls’ LEAP, but haven’t done a program yet. We especially encourage those who are interested in empowerment, leadership, or self-defense to apply! Mentors are selected though a rigorous training and application process. Once hired, Teen Mentors will be part-time, paid employees with Girls’ LEAP.

Program Activities

  • Weekly Teen Mentor meetings are held on Thursdays from 5-7 PM.
  • Mentors will assist in teaching at least one full program (10 weeks) per year (mentors will be trained).
  • Run or participate in outreach events on topics ranging from the bystander effect to cyber bullying and more.
  • Participate in workshops to further develop personal and professional life skills such as public speaking leadership and self confidence

Contact LEAP at (617) 514-4285 or leapmail@girlsleap.org to apply to be a teen mentor.
