Teen Mentor Program
A school year or summer commitment.
Our teen leadership and employment program trains girls ages 14-18 to serve as assistants on Girls’ LEAP programs. Teen Mentors build leadership skills by serving as role models to girls in programs and by raising community awareness about the violence that girls face. Teens are selected through an application process.
Teen Mentors will demonstrate a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the ways that violence impacts girls as well as the ways that girls can make choices and take action that keeps them physically and emotionally safe. Teen Mentors gain valuble life skills including:
- Increased confidence in personal safety
- Increased awareness of higher education opportunities
- Ability to coach and mentor
- Work readiness and confidence in communication and presentation skills
- Professionalism in engagement with peers and supervisors
