A Cause for Celebration
Thank you for joining us at our Empowerment Gala! Together we honored the wonderful Renee Graham, celebrated the amazing young women we serve and raised funds to keep doing this critical work.
You heard the words of Renee Graham: "The great poet Gwendolyn Brooks wrote, “We are each other’s harvest. We are each other’s business. We are each other’s magnitude and bond.” Ms. Brooks could well have been describing the vital mission of Girls’ LEAP."
"Within this great community, girls learn to protect their bodies, respect their safety, raise their voices, and nurture their minds."
"At this crucial moment in history, there is no more important work than fostering the next generation of girls and women conscripted to carry our nation forward with rectitude, confidence, and grace."
Suhayla, a senior at BPS, shared the impact LEAP made on her: "Now, I actively recruit younger students to join Girls’ LEAP and empower them as my coach empowered me. Now, I am excited to go to college and bring a piece of this new me to a new space while encouraging those around me to stand up for themselves."
Suhayla's teacher, Nasrin, had this message: "LEAP is an incredible program that instills life skills, empathy, self-confidence, along with self-defense. I strongly encourage you to donate to this amazing non-profit organization."
Thank you for joining us in this work. Please stay in touch, share our message and support us with a donation. Every dollar helps us reach more girls.
