Girls' LEAP welcomes new Executive Director and Roxbury leader, May Vaughn

May Vaughn has served young people and families throughout her career. Having grown up in Roxbury, MA, she is dedicated to the community. As the daughter of Honduran immigrants, May is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. She comes to Girls’ LEAP with 25 years of experience working with youth, and has held key leadership roles at the Greater Boston & Roxbury YMCA, Roxbury Tenants of Harvard, and Sitters for Scholars. She has a proven track record of success, strategic vision, and commitment to helping keep girls and gender-expansive youth safe. May currently chairs the Community Advisory Board for Boston Children’s Hospital, is a Board Member of The Philanthropy Connection and a site visitor for the Cummings Foundation.

May replaces Cynthia Maltbie and Lynn Masterman who have served as co-executive directors since 2018. Maltbie will retire to the Girls’ LEAP Board and Masterman will continue with the organization as Chief Operating Officer.
