Girls' LEAP receives $10,000 from the philanthropic arm of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, Point32Health Foundation

BOSTON – September 14, 2026 – Girls' LEAP, an organization that helps girls and gender expansive youth build physical self-defense and social-emotional skills, received a $10,000 general operating grant from the philanthropic arm of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, Point32Health Foundation.

“Every young person deserves to feel safe, recognize their strengths, and know their voice matters,” said May Vaughn, Executive Director at Girls’ LEAP. “We’re grateful to Point32Health Foundation and the Black Professionals Colleague Resource Group for investing in our work and the young people we serve.”

This grant is one of nine new investments directed by Point32Health’s Colleague Resource Groups to improve health outcomes. In addition to the grant, Point32Health colleagues will engage with the organization through volunteer service or other opportunities throughout the coming year.

“Point32Health colleagues worked alongside Foundation staff to identify a community issue that reflects their group's affinity, researched nonprofits in the region, reviewed proposals and ultimately made a funding recommendation,” said Beth Chandler, executive director of the Point32Health Foundation. “This partnership helps colleagues develop a deeper understanding of community needs; nonprofit leadership and the role philanthropy can play in advancing positive change.”
